Este texto explora la problematica del desencuentro entre ciudadanos religiosos y no religiosos a la luz de la perspectiva posmetafísica de Habermas sobre el rol de la religión en la esfera pública. Como telón de fondo se tendrá el reciente debate en torno al concepto emitido por un profesor de la Universidad de la Sabana como parte de la discusión constitucional sobre la adopción de parte de parejas del mismo sexo. En la introducción del artículo se describirá la propuesta de Habermas sobre el rol de la religión en la esfera pública. Posteriormente se indicará lo que Habermas entiende por metafísica para así señalar los roles que una filosofía posmetafísica puede asumir, así como los principales elementos de un acercamiento filosófico posmetafísico a la religión. Finalmente, se presentarán unas conclusiones.
